Consultant: Caryn Markson, EdD

I offer Individual Consultation and Group Consultation to people who have completed all levels of training. I have been running EMDR training and consultation groups and providing individual consultation for over 10 years. I am a trainer and a facilitator with Laurel Parnell and want people who have completed her three part training to know I am here. I work with people who have been trained by Laurel Parnell and I also work with people who have been trained by the EMDR Institute or by HAP. A priority and emphasis in my consultation is the integration of Attachment-Focused EMDR into solid psychodynamic, psychoanalytic and/or systems therapy. In addition I am a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and integrate the body into all the work we do. I also have a Post Graduate Certificate after two years of Psychoanalytic Study through the Massachusetts Institute of Psychoanalysis. I focus on presentation of cases and group practice and sharing readings from the field.

Consultant: Barbara Meyer, Ed.D.

I have been an approved consultant for the past seven years. I have run small groups, done individual consultations and have run groups for EMDR-trained clinicians at the UMASS Center for Counseling & Psychological Health.

Since I have been in training to become a HAP facilitator, I have realized the importance of getting consultation early in one’s work with EMDR. More recently, I have focused on offering consultation to those newly trained in EMDR and to those who have practiced EMDR for only two years. Early consultation can lead to solid skill sets, much more confidence, a clear understanding of how to integrate EMDR into on-going therapy and fewer drop-outs.

While the work is serious, learning can be fun and relaxed. Currently I have openings for individual consultations.

Two general EMDR therapy consultation groups will get underway once again this September.

Both are continuations of existing consultation groups with a solid core of participants and a healthy momentum. Our discussions are robust, constructive and often eased by humor.

If you would like to be in a consultation group, please let me know.
